iris II

IRIS II is a surreal artwork that uses augmented reality to further explore the themes of destruction and the unknown.

At first we are faced with what appears to be an iris of an eye but at second examination we are now faced with a city, depicted in a spiral, representing the ordered and structured systems of our world, while the black hole at the center symbolizes the all-consuming force of chaos and the unknown.

The moon looming overhead adds a sense of eerie foreboding, suggesting that even the celestial bodies that once seemed constant and unchanging are not immune to the pull of the void.

The artwork invites the viewer to consider the fragility of our reality and the ever-present possibility of its unraveling.
